Mechanical Engineering Technologist
Primary Responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:
Design of building mechanical systems.
Creation of design documents such as drawings, written specifications, and reports.
Assist in construction administration by reviewing equipment shop drawings, conducting site visits, site reviews and preparing change notices, site instructions, attending meetings, etc.
Collaboration with other technical professionals and clients on project teams; dealing with site issues and generally managing projects during construction to their successful completion.
Work with clients to provide the best and most appropriate mechanical design solutions for projects.
Qualifications:
Diploma in Certified Engineering Technologies from a recognized post-secondary institution.
Five or more years of direct industry (especially commercial) experience in the field of mechanical building services required.
Skills:
Must be detail orientated; possessing superior organizational and time management skills; ability to meet project deadlines.
Ability to multi-task and efficiently respond to changing priorities in a busy office environment.
Proficiency in English, in both verbal and written communication is essential; must be able to communicate effectively with both internal and external clients.
Ability to design and draft a project from start to completion with minimal supervision.
Ability to size mechanical systems and select equipment appropriate to space and/or building specifications.
Ability to review, interpret and apply building codes.
Strong mechanical design experience with thorough knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit, Bluebeam, Trace/Carrier, E-Design, and Microsoft Office applications.
Must be motivated, possess a growth mentality and be a continuous learner.
Ability to foster positive relationships with clients and team members.
Mechanical Draftsperson
Primary Responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:
Create accurate and clear mechanical drawings in compliance with drafting standards.
Work in an engineering environment with other design personnel and in collaboration with teams of Professional Engineers and Technologists.
Collect and document building as-built conditions, when required.
Participate in design reviews and occasional customer review meetings, provide resource information and design input.
Qualifications:
Diploma in Certified Engineering Technologies from a recognized post-secondary institution.
Five or more years of direct industry (especially commercial) experience in the field of mechanical building services required.
